Mehlville Junior Panthers may grant registration fee scholarships to area youth who without the assistance would not be able to participate in one of the MJP sport programs. Scholarship requests must be submitted no later than 2 weeks before registration deadline. The application is reviewed by the MJP scholarship committee. The amount of the award may be full or partial and is dependent upon the number of applications, income, and scholarship funds available.

Requirements for eligibility:

• Must be in good standing from previous season. No outstanding balances or equipment needing return
• Submission of Income Documentation
• Commitment to attend a minimum of 80% of scheduled games and practices
• Participation by an adult family member to work the required additional volunteer hours as outlined in the discount tiers
• Incomplete or late applications will not be considered
• Failure to meet the requirements will prevent the athlete from obtaining future scholarships

Consideration will be given to eligible youth meeting one or more of the criteria below. The more information you can provide us the better able we will be to determine hardship. A written application is required.

• Receiving assistance from programs such as: Food Stamps, Medicaid, SSI, foster Care, WIC, etc.
• Written recommendation by school representatives, social services representatives, family, or friend of the family
• Documentation demonstrating an immediate financial hardship
• Income Documentation is required

Confidentiality:

MJP will use the information on the application only to decide if your child qualifies to receive a partial or full scholarship for eligible MJP activities. Confidentiality will be maintained at all times. Applicants are guaranteed that personal finances will not be discussed outside of the MJP Board Committee. Coaches, assistant coaches, or volunteer helpers will not be informed of a participant’s financial or scholarship status.
